THE GRIEVES shows a series of artworks by Katja Moritz, titled GHOST SERIES (Grief 1-10) expressing the impact of grief or any other heavy emotion on a person. White fog is taking over the "main painting" at first, the ghosts, until they become part of each other and result in a new painting, a new person.

The exhibition and artworks explore grief, as an emotion that usually in a sudden and overwhelming movement takes over a person. White paint resembles it, similar to fog or clouds. The main painting moves to the background, still visible, changing. The red lines in each artwork mark the connection and ending of the process, the realization and documentation of the rising of something new.

THE GRIEVES präsentiert eine Reihe von Kunstwerken von Katja Moritz mit dem Titel GHOST SERIES (Grief 1-10). Sie thematisiert die Auswirkungen von Trauer und anderen starken Emotionen auf einen Menschen. Weißer Nebel überzieht zunächst das „Hauptbild“, die Geister, bis sie Teil voneinander werden und ein neues Bild, eine neue Person, entsteht.

Die Ausstellung und die Kunstwerke erkunden Trauer als eine Emotion, die einen Menschen meist plötzlich und überwältigend erfasst. Weiße Farbe symbolisiert sie, ähnlich wie Nebel oder Wolken. Das Hauptbild rückt in den Hintergrund, bleibt sichtbar, verändert sich. Die roten Linien in jedem Werk markieren den Abschluss des Prozesses, die Erkenntnis und Dokumentation des Entstehens von etwas Neuem.
